  1. Pour the custard mixture into the roasting pan.
  2. Freeze for 45 minutes.
  3. Remove from the freezer, and whisk thoroughly.
  4. Repeat every 30 minutes until the mixture is smooth and frozen. This will take 2-3 hours.
  5. Transfer to a covered container until ready to serve.

  2. Put 2 cups of ice into the gallon bag.
  3. Add 3/4 cup salt to the ice.
  4. Place the sealed quart bag inside the gallon bag of ice and salt.
  5. Seal the gallon bag tightly.
  6. Rock the bag from side to side. You may want to wear gloves as the bag will be cold.

  • 1 pound coffee can, washed and dried.
  • 3 pound coffee can
  • Duct tape

  1. Pour ice cream mixture into 1 pound coffee can.
  2. Seal can lid with duct tape.
  3. Place 1 pound can inside 3 pound can.
  4. Pack 3 cups ice and 1 cup salt around smaller can.
  5. Seal 3 pound can lid with duct tape
  6. Roll the can back and forth for 15 minutes.
  7. Open 3 pound canand dump ice and water.
  8. Dry small can and open.
  9. Wipe ice cream down from sides of can, and add any additional ingredients, such as cookie dough.
  10. Reseal the 1 pound can with duct tape, and repack it it with remaining ice and salt in 3 pound can.
  11. Reseal 3 pound can with duct tape.
  12. Roll for 10 more minutes.
  13. Transfer the ice cream to a covered container until ready to serve.
